General Information
The village, deeply nestled in the Prättigau, was named after a monastery of the Premonstratensian order, documented as early as 1220 - the present-day Reformed Church of St. Jakob. Over time, the ensemble of buildings underwent transformations. The church tower with its roof dates back to the Middle Ages. The longitudinal building was erected in 1493. Later additions included the rectory and the stained glass windows by Augusto Giacometti. In 2008, the buildings were expanded with a modern hall and foyer. The new Goll organ, installed in 2018, with its 28 registers distributed across the main, swell, and pedal divisions, offers a colorful and characterful range of sounds.
