Florian Favre- Trio

Friday, 21.3.2025 | Kulturschuppen

The Fribourg pianist Florian Favre presents his trio with a worldly, pop-laden, sensitive and eruptive jazz, a sometimes complex but extremely vital music. Surprising twists and turns and rhythmic sensitivity characterise the interplay with Geneva bassist Manu Hagmann and drummer Arthur Alard from Paris. A sound that knows space and calm, but also physical force, bizarre suddenness and dramatic interaction.

Seraphim von Werra - Solo

Friday, 21.3.2025 | Chesa Bar

As a young teenager, the multi-instrumentalist Seraphim von Werra from Winterthur found his way to the hand organ through a music shop sale. Growing up with piano and drums in a family of musicians, he completed a master's degree in percussion and became a self-taught accordion player, which he masterfully performs in various formations. In addition to his stylistic diversity, his love of Balkan folk music will be heard in his solo performance.

Hattori Hanzi

Saturday, 29.3.2025 | Werkstatt Schlosserei Roffler

This trio refutes the notion that samba & punk, electro & free jazz, psychedelic & pop have nothing to do with each other with synthesizers and analogue sound generators such as a Hammond B3 from grandma's time - unconventionally wired and sometimes played in a way that is alienated from its intended purpose. The trio creates a sound with strong grooves, bluesy inserts and jazzy lines that provide danceable surprises and casual catchy tunes beyond the genre pigeonholes.
